Bayyinah C. Pierre, Associate Architect II - HNTB Corporation

Bayyinah Pierre is an architectural designer at HNTB Corporation in New York City; where she currently works on numerous infrastructure projects, including transit stations and airports at a variety of locations around the United States. While working there, she completed her credential training for Envision and WEDG, both design infrastructure frameworks expanding her expertise in sustainable resilient practices and ideas in the AEC industry. She currently lives in Long Island, NY after moving from Port-au-Prince, Haiti where she is originally from after the devasting 2010 earthquake. The traumatic experience only fortified Pierre's decision to become an architect, with each career step aimed towards utilizing her architectural knowledge to support and inspire other emerging architects. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute, where she advocated for socially conscious architecture in numerous design projects. In addition to her work hours as a designer, she volunteers her time to local NYC high schoolers in the ACE mentorship program to push them to attain their goals as emerging designers, no matter their race, gender, or socioeconomic status. Pierre is committed to delivering quality designs that consider the end-users as she believes strongly in advocating for equitable, healing, and socially inclusive architecture.
