Bill Harris, AIA, is the Managing Director of the New York studio of Perkins&Will. Active in all aspects of the practice, including Commercial, Mixed Use, Healthcare, Science & Technology, Higher Education and Corporate Interiors. Bill’s professional focus for 30 years has been the design of vibrant and innovative environments for the commercial life sciences, stretching across three intersecting networks: Life Science companies as tenants, developers of core/shell lab buildings, and those planning clusters, districts, and communities. Bill was part of the NYEDC’s impactful Life Sciences Infrastructure Initiative Study of 2016 and has served as a panelist for numerous programs, from the AIA-New York’s “Allies for Women in Design” to ULI’s Futures in Development.

Bill frequently speaks on the “secret sauce” of successful science developments, and is an advocate of the convergence of science, engineering, and technology with cultural and social networks. One of Bill’s favorite accomplishments is creating Boston’s Battle of the Biotech Bands. This annual social and business networking event has raised nearly a million dollars to fight disease through research. 

Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University.
