Steven Mifsud MBE
Profoundly deaf since birth and a Cochlear Implantee, Steven graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture. After working as an Access Officer for the historic City of Chester, he founded Direct Access in 2004 working with both Architects and Governments from accessibility of individual buildings to masterplanning city centres. He has worked on some iconic projects around the world including world heritage sites, transport infrastructure, new Headquarters for the United Nations and theme parks. Steven audits around 80 parks and recreation facilities per annum.
Steven leads a team of people with disabilities working on multiple projects across New York and New England, with his specialist focus on developing accessible public rights of way from sidewalks to parking facilities.
