Sonia Guior
Sonia Guior is a Senior Policy Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Operations in the New York City Mayor's Office. In this role, she project manages and advises the Chief Public Realm Officer and Deputy Mayor Operations on a variety of public realm projects, including the City's new permanent outdoor dining program, the Future of Fifth Avenue redesign, the City's "Get Sheds Down" initiative, and many other design and infrastructure projects involving multiple city agencies. She brings nearly a decade of experience working in New York City government across several agencies and teams.
Prior to her work at the Mayor's Office, Sonia was the Director of Community and Intergovernmental Affairs at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), managing the agency's relationships with elected officials, the City Council, and community and advocacy groups, and leading outreach efforts to building owners and community members. Before joining the LPC, Sonia held several roles at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, most recently as Director of External and Intergovernmental Affairs. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University and is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at New York University.
