Sharon Berger, Esq., CCM, ENV SP is a vice president of Construction Services at Gannett Fleming, focusing on projects in New York. She has more than 20 years of experience working with engineering firms, developers, owners, property managers and all levels of government.
Sharon’s unique background in environmental and construction law, as well as engineering, allows her to successfully analyze technical questions and provide guidance to clients during pre-construction, construction, and close-out phases. Having spent multiple years as an engineering designer, she understands the challenges of the design team and is able to work harmoniously with them during preconstruction to identify areas where sustainability & resilience measures can be utilized.
Sharon has worked on various projects that support the local community throughout her career - one of which was incredibly impactful when Superstorm Sandy struck the city in 2012. As the director of technical services for the New York City Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery, Sharon oversaw the $3 billion Build it Back Program, which provided funds to repair or rebuild residential homes damaged from the storm. Working directly with Mayor Bloomberg and Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway, Sharon developed a successful program that supported over 24,000 applicants.
