Sean A. Gallagher
Sean A. Gallagher is a Principal and the Director of Sustainable Design at Diller Scofidio + Renfro. As the Director of Sustainable Design, he has played a critical role in the visioning process of the studio’s recent work; including the United States Olympic Museum, Google’s ‘Eco Pier 57,’ Microsoft’s timber ‘The Square’ project, and the University of Chicago’s ‘Rubenstein Forum’ Project - which was awarded 2022 Best Tall Tower Worldwide by the International Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats.
Sean is also Adjunct Faculty at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation where he focuses his research on developing new strategies to improve the social and ecological health of urban communities. As part of this effort he serves as a local advocate and board member for the Embankment Coalition, a non-profit organization that will turn Jersey City's abandoned downtown rail infrastructure into an urban forest and East Coast Greenway corridor.
