Raul is an Associate Principal and Senior Interior Design Lead in the Buildings + Places group at AECOM. With more than 15 years of experience working on projects of different typologies, scales, and complexities, including higher education, healthcare, sports, retail, and workplace environments, his design approach explores new forms of research and emerging technologies and encourages critical thought in the context of design speculation. Raul holds a Bachelor of Architecture and post-graduate specialty studies in Interior Architecture from the National University of Mexico. In addition, he received a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. With the idea of architecture reclaiming its invisible olfactory dimension to add another level of experience to space, Raul obtained a certification in fragrance development from the Jimmy Bell | Givaudan Program at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
