Patrick McAffrey, AIA
Associate Principal, Studio Director,
Dattner Architects
Patrick originally hails from out West, raised in Colorado and educated at the University of Oregon. In addition to architecture, he also studied product design, which has helped fuel an interest in how design can enrich and affect people at all scales from bicycles to train stations. Patrick considers himself to be an urbanist and is passionate about city-building in this country and specifically in our region. Over the course of the past decade, Patrick has framed his career at Dattner Architects through this lens, striving to design and build meaningful public projects in the transportation and infrastructural realm. This work is programmatically diverse and deeply affects the communities in which it is placed, the public agency staff it employs, and the network it serves – thus reinforcing the importance of thoughtful and engaging design processes. Infrastructure literally serves as the first and last stop as well as the in between for all people interacting with, moving through, and living in a city. The concepts driving the future of urban design and living are incredibly exciting, and Patrick is humbled to be a part of it.
