Nicolas Ryan
Nicolas is a Principal Architect and Design Manager at HDR. His expertise spans more than 25 years of design and project leadership on high-profile civic and transportation projects such as the Ontario Line, the Fulton Street Transit Center, the Port Authority Bus Terminal (competition), the New York Wheel and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Nicolas built a solid reputation for design excellence and effective project management and as an advocate for sustainable design and technical innovation. He is well recognized for his ability to engage the best talents of a design team and integrate architecture, engineering and site/urban design into a cohesive whole.
Nicolas earned his Bachelor of Architecture with Distinction from McGill University and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. He has taught architectural design at New York Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to joining HDR, Nicolas was an Associate Principal at Perkins Eastman and played leadership roles at Grimshaw and other New York architecture firms.
