Mike Milinic
Mike has served our Health System for over 26 years in various roles beginning his career in the Receiving Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens in 1996, while pursuing his BA in Business Management. Mike spent 2 years within Material’s Management Division, before accepting an Associate Bookkeeper position in what was then the Queens Health Network Controller’s Office. Mike served in the Network Controller’s Office for the next 18 eighteen years, rising through ranks, while earning his Masters of Science in Accounting from Queens College.
In 2012, Mike was appointed Network Controller, overseeing Accounts Payable, Cash Control, Capital Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, General Accounting, Payroll and the Property Offices at both NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst & NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens. As part of his role, Mike oversaw the integrity of all Financial Systems and led both facilities through all year end external audits. Towards the later point of his tenure, Mike helped collaborate in planning sessions for various financial system components that eventually led to the transition to PeopleSoft financials.
In 2016, Mike formally transitioned over to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst to head up our Capital planning team. Mike was later appointed as Sr. Associate Executive Director of Facilities/Operations, overseeing Engineering & Maintenance, Life Safety compliance, Planning & Design and Capital planning. During his time at Elmhurst Hospital, Mike has led his team through two successful Joint Commission Survey’s, the Covid-19 response, and has begun transforming our facility by upgrading numerous sections of the building in an effort to improve both the patient and staff experience.
In his New Role, Mike will maintain his previous responsibilities while overseeing the entire $150M Capital portfolio of NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst, encompassing equipment planning, infrastructure upgrades and campus expansion. As we move to align current needs with our strategic vision for Healthcare delivery in the heart of Queens. Mike will work closely with the entire Executive Team, Legislative Partners and Corporate Officers to ensure NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst is prepared to meet the needs of our community for the foreseeable future.
