Mariama regularly mentors young women, especially women of color. As an immigrant and a woman of color herself, she faced many challenges while starting her career in the US and often felt like an outsider. Through her association with Pace, the African Women in Leadership Organization and the Guinean Community in America, Mariam strives to provide a safe space for young women to learn crucial leadership and career-building skills to help them thrive. Mariama is driven to make financial literacy available to underserved communities and to help women from her community make sound financial decisions and experience financial freedom. She finds this the most rewarding part of her job.
