As the Executive Deputy Commissioner, Magalie manages various divisions and business units within the NYC Department of Design and Construction, including the Division of Human Resources and Staff Development, Workforce Development, Community Hiring, Industry Relations, Community Partnerships, and the Minority and Women's Business Enterprises Program. Magalie is a recognized subject matter expert in the area of diversity and inclusion within the built industry and as such, she manages NYC's largest economic development program with a focus on infrastructure, innovation and inclusion. With over 1200 employees, the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) serves as New York City’s capital project delivery agency with a portfolio currently valued at over $20 billion. Under her leadership the agency has created and implemented innovative solutions that increased contract opportunities for minority-and women-owned business entities by almost 250%, awarding almost $2 billion in capital construction projects.
