Lizbeth A. Rodriguez-Rios
Lizbeth A. Rodriguez has served as Project Director for the Small Business Transportation Center (SBTRC) in the Northeast region since 2020. In this role, she spearheads the SBTRC's mission to provide guidance, training, and resources to support small businesses and entrepreneurs in the transportation industry across the Northeast.
Before joining the Northeast SBTRC, Lizbeth was a Certified Business Advisor with the LaGuardia Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC). As an advisor, she leveraged her marketing, strategic planning, and business development expertise to empower the Hispanic business community. Lizbeth assisted over 600 start-ups and business owners, facilitating the securing of over $1,000,000 in financing and capital investments for local entrepreneurs. She also led the Center's SBA Disaster Resiliency Program, delivering critical assistance to businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy. Her impactful contributions were recognized with the 2018 Lead by Example Award among NY State SBDC Business Advisors.
In her time with the SBDC, Lizbeth collaborated closely with many small business owners, including those acknowledged as SBDC Success Stories and SBA New York District Entrepreneurs of the Year. She remains dedicated to sharing her entrepreneurial journey and inspiring fellow start-up founders.
With over two decades of professional experience, Lizbeth has held key executive positions at top multinational advertising and marketing agencies such as BBDO and Grey Global Advertising. She previously served as National Marketing Director for Impremedia, a multi-cultural media publishing firm based in California and New York. Her diverse background encompasses all aspects of business and marketing strategy, research, campaign development, project management, and performance analysis.
Lizbeth holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico and an MA in Advertising from Michigan State University. A native Spanish speaker, she is adept at connecting with and empowering Hispanic business owners.
As Project Director, Lizbeth leads a dynamic team providing training, counseling, and resources to small transportation industry small businesses across the Northeast region. Her multifaceted experience, leadership capabilities, and passion for empowering entrepreneurs make Lizbeth an invaluable asset to the SBTRC and the companies it serves. She continues to champion small business and economic growth in underserved communities in the region.
