Laura Grieco, PE
Laura Grieco, Professional Engineer, is the Director of Engineering at the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). Laura’s expertise include storm water management, water and wastewater treatment planning, design and construction. She managed the 2018 NYC Electrical Code Revision cycle, served as the chair of the Existing Building Code Electrical Advisory Committee and as a member of the Managing Committee during the 2020 Existing Building Code revision cycle.
With nearly 20 years of experience from both the public and private sectors, Laura’s focus is on managing large complex programs critical in improving the quality of life of New Yorkers. Prior to joining DOB, Laura served as the Chief of the Office of Regulatory Strategy for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), where she represented DEP in front of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and EPA’s Long Island Sound Study.
In addition to her work at DOB, Laura teaches PE/FE review courses. She earned a Master of Science in Environmental Technology from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College.
