James Mallory, AIA
James Mallory, AIA, is a Design Principal at HOK with over 18 years of experience on complex, large-scale projects worldwide. He serves on HOK’s global design board and leads award-winning projects by promoting design exploration and excellence, integrating HOK technical expertise and fostering cohesive, multidisciplinary teams. He continually advocates for sustainability, and prioritizing health, well-being and equity within the HOK community and with his clients. He leads the firm’s “Design Matters” speaker series while also mentoring emerging designers and leading recruiting.
His work includes master plans, mixed-use developments, buildings and interiors across sectors including science and technology, higher education and creative media.
With a Master of Architecture from the Weitzman School of Design (formerly PennDesign) at the University of Pennsylvania, James received the Paul Philippe Cret Medal. He enjoys participating in student reviews, most recently at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture and the Cornell College of Architecture.
Originally from Kansas City, James has called Brooklyn home for 25 years.
