Frank McCarton
Frank McCarton serves as the Assistant Commissioner for Emergency Services at the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). In this role Frank oversees emergency incident response, continuity of operations planning, and interagency coordination during protracted buildings-related field operations.
Prior to joining DOB in 2022, Frank held multiple senior emergency management and operations roles throughout his career, including New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM), New York City Fire Department (FDNY), New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Boston Fire Department (BFD), and the California Emergency Management Agency (CALEMA). With several decades of emergency management experience, Frank is a recognized for his expertise. He coordinated public information and emergency response operations during the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, the American Airlines Flight 587 disaster, California wildfires and during the aftermath Superstorm Sandy.
