Edward Kostakis, a pioneering figure in the drone industry, is the CEO, Co-Founder, and Head of Aerial Operations at AeroSpect (Drone Facade Inspection Service) and Xizmo Media (Drone Cinematography Service). With a career marked by innovation and dedication, Edward has significantly shaped the landscape of using drones for architecture and engineering.

Having accumulated thousands of hours in drone operations, Edward has become an authority in building inspections and on-set piloting for live television broadcasts, feature films, commercials, and music videos. Over more than a decade, he has played a pivotal role in the development of custom equipment tailored for inspections and film productions, leaving an indelible mark both domestically and internationally.

Edward's expertise shines in close proximity flying, where he excels in capturing highly complicated aerial shots, thriving in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments. As an award-winning Aerial Cinematographer, he has not only showcased his skills but also broadened his capabilities by attaining licenses for private piloting, seaplanes, and helicopters.

His remarkable work hasn't gone unnoticed, as publications like the NY Times, Popular Mechanics, the National Herald, Jalopnik, and ABC News have featured his contributions to the field. Edward's commitment to safety is evident in his collaboration with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he has shared valuable knowledge and experience for drone-related accidents and investigations.

Edward's journey is marked by diverse experiences, including eight years of service in the United States Marine Corps as an Air Intelligence Officer. Following his military career, he served as the Senior Pilot in North America for DJI for four years, showcasing his commitment to advancing drone technology. He also shares his expertise as an Adjunct Professor of Drone Cinematography at Adelphi University.

A significant milestone in Edward's career is his pivotal role, alongside business partner Pablo Barrera, in making drones legal and permitted for use in NYC. Their advocacy and efforts have not only opened up new possibilities for drone technology in the city but have also set a precedent for its integration and acceptance.
