Edward Kostakis is a pioneering leader in the drone industry, serving as the CEO, Co-Founder, and Head of Aerial Operations at both AeroSpect (Drone Facade Inspection Service) and Xizmo Media (Drone Cinematography Service). With a career rooted in innovation and dedication, Edward, alongside his business partner Pablo Barrera, single handedly made commercial drone operations legal in New York City. By challenging the city's drone ban, they paved the way for architects and engineers to utilize drone technology, transforming the industry.
With nearly 20 years of experience in drone operations and thousands of flight hours under his belt, Edward has conducted drone facade inspections on nearly 100 buildings, including iconic landmarks such as the Empire State Building, New York Stock Exchange, and St. Patrick's Cathedral. His expertise and commitment have helped make AeroSpect the most sought-after drone facade inspection company in the country, as they consistently strive to push the limits of drone technology.
Edward's distinguished career includes serving as a senior pilot for DJI (the world's largest drone manufacturer) in North America for five years, as well as serving as an Air Intelligence Officer in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years. He also established the drone cinematography and photography course at Adelphi University, where he taught as an adjunct professor. Edward remains dedicated to advancing drone technology in New York City, working tirelessly to make the city a safer and better place.
