Dylan Baker‑Rice

Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering Services, New York City Housing Authority
Dylan Baker-Rice is Director of the Architecture & Engineering Services Department for the New York City Housing Authority, leading the department in design of capital improvements to the US’s largest and oldest public housing authority.  Work in the department focuses on improved community engagement and outreach, improvements to the quality of life of residents, modernizing buildings, grounds, and infrastructure, and reducing energy consumption for the more than 530,000 public housing residents spread across the five boroughs of New York City.  Dylan has worked in the AEC industry for more than twenty years, serving in leadership roles as a principal of Studio Baker-Rice in Brooklyn and Affect-t in Hong Kong as well as Zaha Hadid Architects in London and Asymptote Architecture in New York.  In parallel to architectural and design work, Dylan has taught at architecture schools in the US and abroad including Pratt Institute’s Graduate School of Architecture, the University of Hong Kong, and Columbia University.
