Duncan Brown, RA, is the Director of Energy Code Compliance within the Bureau of Sustainability at the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). Since 2014, Duncan has led the team responsible for Energy Code compliance reviews, and for providing advisory insights for updates to the New York City Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC). As a Registered Architect and Certified Energy Manager, Duncan’s contributions include committee memberships in the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) Residential Code and the 2021 International Green Construction Code, both of which advanced energy and sustainability at the national level.
