David Garten
David Garten is a Senior Advisor at RXR, an innovative investor, developer, and place-maker committed to applying a customer and community-centered approach to all aspects of its business. RXR manages over 30.5 million square feet of commercial properties with a gross asset value of $20.7 billion. RXR also has a multi-family residential portfolio of 8,800 units under operation or development, an over $4 billion new terminal under construction at JFK International Airport, and an expanding national portfolio and development pipeline in some of the fastest-growing markets in the country, including Phoenix, Denver, Raleigh, and Tampa. David is also the CEO of Red Oak Street, a multidisciplinary strategic consulting firm that offers actionable and efficient solutions designed to bridge the gap between the public and the private sector to achieve win-win outcomes. Prior to his current roles, David served as a Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs at RXR, overseeing the company’s corporate communications, government relations, ESG platform, and the implementation of RXR’s social impact and community engagement programs. David also served as the Chief of Staff to the Vice Chair at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, the Director of Federal Relations at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and the Port Authority, and a Senior Policy Advisor to then-U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY) and the late U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ). David is a board member of the Regional Plan Association (RPA) and a member of the organization’s Executive Committee.
