Carisima Koenig is an architect as well as a faculty member of the Graduate Architecture and Urban Design program at Pratt Institute where she has taught since 2005. Carisima is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice where she examines the dynamic relationships that test the profession and its process of development. In addition to her work in academia Carisima is a Principal, Education Practice Leader, and member of the Women's Forum at Perkins Eastman. She serves as a Board member for a community based school in Brooklyn, NY and most recently has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Madame Architect. As both a practitioner and educator Carisima designs and plans inclusive learning environments which look to the future. A champion for innovation and firm believer in the importance of educational accessibility, Carisima has worked across all education typologies and designs with both today’s students, as well as future generations, in mind. With an open and collaborative mindset, she strategizes with campus leadership to tackle the unique challenges of each institution and ensure a solution which enhances growth and opportunity for all.
