Barbara Kavovit
Barbara Kavovit, New York native, pioneer and construction trailblazer, is the CEO and founder of EvergreenConstruction, a New York City-based general contracting and construction management firm named after the street in the Bronx where her Dad grew up. Kavovit has utilized her 20 plus years of experience to redefine the industry, breaking through the glass ceiling, and paving the way for other women. By the time she was 30, Kavovit was named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Business” by Crain’s. Kavovit’s passion for building began when she was nine years old. When the other girls were playing with Barbie dolls, Kavovit picked up a hammer and helped her father build a bunk bed that she shared with her sister when they were kids.Her love for construction led to the launch of her brand “Barbara K” – a revolutionary line of ergonomically designed tools and kits made to empower women. The products were sold nationwide by retailers and caught the attention of national media. Kavovit has been featured multiple times in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, US Magazine, Inc. Magazine, USA Today, Oprah Magazine, to name a few.
A New York Post columnist for six years, she authored two non- fiction books, “Room For Improvement” and “Invest in Your Nest”, and her first novel, “Heels of Steel” was released by Harper Collins in 2019. She appeared as a full time cast member on “The
Real Housewives of New York City’s” 11th season on Bravo. Barbara ran for the 2021 New York City Mayoral race, eventually conceding in June. Barbara lives in New York City with her son Zachary.
