Senior Program Traffic Engineer, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Asheque Rahman is a Senior Program Traffic Engineer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), having recently led transportation engineering efforts for the $19 billion JFK Redevelopment Program and currently leading Traffic Management Center initiatives for the $10 billion Midtown Bus Terminal Replacement. With over 18 years of experience in transportation engineering, planning, supply chain logistics, emerging technology, and program management, he has delivered high-impact initiatives across New York City’s public agencies.

Asheque is a nationally recognized transportation professional, having received the ASCE Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award (2013), the IMPORMS Franz Edelman Finalist Award (2017), and the Institute of Transportation Engineers Young Leaders to Follow Award (2021). He also served as Past President (2024) of the ITE Metropolitan Section.

He previously held key roles at the NYC Department of Transportation, NYC Department of Design and Construction, and NYC Emergency Management, implementing major citywide initiatives including the Traffic Information Management System (TIMS), the Off-Hour Deliveries Program, and the Citywide Asset and Logistics Management System (CALMS).
