Asheque Rahman
Asheque Rahman is a Senior Traffic Engineer at the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC). Asheque has over 14 years of diverse experience in transportation engineering, planning, supply chain logistics, emerging technology, project & program management. Asheque is a nationally recognized transportation professional which includes being the recipient of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award (2013), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (IMPORMS) Franz Edelmen Finalist Award (2017) and the
Institute of Transportation Engineers Young Leaders to Follow Award (2021). Asheque currently serves as NYC DDC’s first ever Traffic Engineer and has led the development of the Division of Infrastructure’s Traffic Engineering Unit. This Unit provide solutions to the Agency’s transportation related matters for the successful delivery of New York City’s Capital Construction Projects.
Asheque previously worked with New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) and New York City Emergency Management Department (NYCEM) serving in numerous roles to help deliver various important Citywide initiatives; such include NYC DOT’s Traffic Information Management System (TIMS), Off-Hour Deliveries (OHD) Program Expansion and NYCEM’s Citywide Asset and Logistics Management
System (CALMS).
