Water Street Improvement Project Will Bring New Pedestrian Plazas
The goal for the new Water Street corridor Streetscape Improvement Project is to create visually appealing public spaces. The City Council hopes the upgrades will encourage more investments in the area while improving pedestrian and vehicular safety. The focus is on new pedestrian plazas with street lights and site furnishings. The Alliance will maintain the new plazas once they are built by adding additional landscaping. The project is estimated to cost $24 million and is due to be completed in 2023.
