Julian Alexander Hemmings, Incoming Future Attorney - University of Michigan
I grew up in the Bronx to two immigrant parents who believed deeply that "if you work hard, the American Dream is attainable". This philosophy propelled me to academic success. I am the first person in my family to graduate college and attend law school. However, my generation has found that education has hindered many people from obtaining true freedom due to the crushing weight of student. Although, my generation is also the most technologically advance and progressive cohort of humans there has ever been. So, I believe that if we put our talents to challenging the norms of go to school, buy a big house, and get a car (the path of liabilities). We can become true community builders through real estate and construction from a position of social justice. I believe we can make the world a better place.
