Katie Bawarski - ACE Mentor Program of America
An architect and design educator, Katie Chevalier Bawarski has dedicated her career to helping
the next generation thrive. Since 2017, Katie has served as the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional
Director for the ACE Mentor Program of America (ACE), supporting and overseeing 26 ACE
affiliates. ACE is a national nonprofit organization that provides mentorship, scholarships, and
internships to high school students interested in pursuing careers in the design and
construction industry.
Herself an ACE alumna, Katie rejoined ACE as a volunteer mentor after earning her Masters of
Architecture. In addition to extensive mentoring, she co-founded and directed the Hudson
Valley, NY ACE affiliate. As Regional Director, Katie has led the startup of many new ACE
affiliates, bringing real-world experience and opportunities to the students of these
communities. She has played a key role in helping ACE develop a virtual mentoring model,
leading the creation of ACE’s virtual curriculum and programming. Katie is also managing ACE’s
international expansion into Canada.
Katie is a registered architect in the state of New York and a member of the American Institute
of Architects (AIA). Early in her career, she practiced architecture with a focus on school design
and accessbility. Katie is passionate about supporting her community and has served as a board
member on her local Planning Board and AIA chapter.
