Valerie Landriscina - RAND Engineering and Architecture
As Project Architect on RAND Engineering & Architecture’s Facade & Roofing Team, Valerie Landriscina, RA provides design, specification, and construction administration services on exterior repair and upgrade projects. Since working at RAND, Valerie managed over $45 million in exterior repair, restoration and capital improvement work.
One of Valerie’s passions lies in historic preservation projects. Her work at 153 Lincoln Place, a 10-unit condominium with severe leakage issues that was built in 1887 in Park Slope Historic District, won the 2017 Park Slope Civil Council’s Evelyn and Everett Ortner Preservation Award for excellence in exterior restoration. Over the past couple of years, she has worked on restoring several Finnish cooperatives in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn including 549-561 41st Street, 702-712 45th Street, and the first and oldest housing cooperative in New York City, 816 & 826 43rd Street, also known as the Alku & Alku Toinen. In addition, Valerie spearheaded the efforts to nominate Alku & Alku Toinen to the National Register of Historic Places, resulting in the listing of the property in 2019.
Valerie received her Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture and her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Design and Architecture Studies from New York University. She is Registered Architect in New York State, a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI), and is certified as a Level 1 Infrared Thermographer.
