Hauke Jungjohann joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2014 to lead the Façade Engineering practice for the East U.S. region. He brings more than 12 years of international experience practicing architecture and engineering. His expertise includes parametric modeling, form optimization in the building design phase and digital information transfer throughout the design and construction process. He is also experienced in the application of new and familiar materials in innovative ways. He specializes in projects that are structurally challenging and aesthetically driven.
Hauke was most recently director of the New York office of Knippers Helbig, a structural and façade engineering firm headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. He has also worked in Switzerland – at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and Gigon/Guyer in Zurich – and in Germany at Schlaich Bergermann und Partner in Stuttgart. His portfolio includes façade design for museums and cultural facilities, hotels, commercial towers and transportation facilities. A native German speaker, Hauke is also fluent in English.
