Educated as an architect, Francine Monaco set out to create a diverse design career, looking at every opportunity through a contemporary lens.
Maintaining a connection and appreciation for our past informs how to challenge the expanding possibilities of our practice. Her ability to combine the practical and the magical, lends all projects and relationships a timeless grace.
As a faculty member of Pratt Institute’s Interior Design Department she inspires the next generation of designers to engage in this dialogue of disciplines with the same enthusiasm. The essence of teaching; guiding, sharing, collaboration, invention, are the qualities she fosters within the office and in all its relationships. As a designer/architect her modernist tendencies are evident in an interest to reconsider how to address familiar design opportunities and materials.
The decorative, the rational, the practical, the aesthetic are all considerations toward celebrating and creating solutions.
