Is there a skills gap in the construction industry? If so, what efforts are being made to combat this?
We don’t believe there is a skills gap in the industry. We do believe there is an innovation gap, and we need to transform our industry through innovation.
Where is New York when it comes to green building?
New York City is still leading the way in green building with a strong energy code and benchmarking system. This brings up overall energy performance of both existing and new buildings. We’re also seeing design leadership from the architects pushing new systems and expecting extremely high performance from their building envelop.
What projects are you currently working on?
Coming out of the recession, our firm has seen accelerated growth, and continues to see opportunities in the market. In New York, we are currently engaged in the largest, most complex projects in the city, such as Hudson Yards and LaGuardia Airport.
